I AM - Di, I am Waterwench© I am DMC - and I am
Dahut Creations by Waterwench© - an intuitive artist/designer/creator/teller of stories and since 1978 I have painted, created, played & experimented with acrylics, oils, watercolours, gouache, inks & encaustics. I have always utilised the healing power of art in its many forms & mediums to assist in healing my own mind, body & soul since 1978.
I have always used so many varied mediums & media in all my artwork, embracing & honouring the Ancient Sacred Divine Feminine as well as the incorporation of symbolism, semi-precious gemstones, crystals, manufactured & found objects & nature's gifts from country & sea.
These are the mediums I enjoy but not just as a single medium, I mix them up, add them to each other, set them on fire & then add the various gifts from nature & other bits & pieces to them. Heating things up just to see what the flame & heat will leave on my chosen substrate is a part of my naturally curious intuitive nature. It is this naturally curious, intuitive, fearless nature I am so proud of.
Dahut Creations by Waterwench© 1978 to Date.
My journey throughout the many decades has evolved in name only once since 1978 - we (Dahut, Waterwench© & I) started as Waterwench Designs© in 1999 and after a tumultuous few years, burnouts & setbacks - we rose from the ashes of all of this to become Dahut Creations by Waterwench©, because that is what I do - I CREATE. We rose back up, more determined than ever to guide others on their own creative adventures and cement in them that...

My Art
Is mine, done MY way or yours (if you ask me nicely).
My online art space is designed to showcase my art and designs in the best possible way. I believe that every home and every space needs the beauty and impact of any piece or type of art to truly make your space unique and YOURS.
Until I no longer can, I will keep bringing more colour into our world.
Throughout my life I have always kept just about every sketch, scribble, painting and design I have done. Many I sold over the decades, but there are those that remain in our home and on our walls, only for us. Many visitors over the decades have seen these in person.
These art works and drawings are important records in colour (or not), of the many paths I have walked throughout my life.
Below are a few of them from my own private collection, I sometimes draw upon them for inspiration to design other artworks or graphics but the originals remain mine.
None of these artworks are for SALE
All current artworks & or art reproduction prints for sale can be found here

Using not only wax, oil paints, acrylic paints, and other mediums but also embedding semi-precious gems, crystals, shells, stones, symbols, and many other items into the creation truly personalises the many pieces I design, create, and craft. My first play with encaustics and the ongoing admiration of this medium began in the early 1990s. Watching that hot wax as it is slowly melting alone is therapeutic; add rich, thick oil paints, natural resins, crushed minerals, and mica powders to this magical melting pot, and then being able to create whatever I have caught in my inner mind and bring that out onto the chosen support whilst the wax medium is still in liquid form is truly a gift from nature. I also still teach how to create with this truly unique and amazing medium. I have learnt I don't just 'paint’; I create.

I ponder, a lot, about the many artworks and creations I have sold throughout the decades… So much of who I am goes into each and every piece I design, create, or paint. Are they still as loved, admired, and protected? Do they still hang on the walls of the being who purchased them?
LET ME KNOW!
I have been using acrylic paints, oils, and mediums as my go-to, all-time preferred mediums for over five plus decades - it is a long, long love affair - watercolours and I never agreed, and I quickly discovered way back in the 1970s that acrylic paint in all her varying forms could be used as a watercolour, a bold statement, and a textured vision in all my art.
I have showcased the many acrylic artworks I have created since 1978 here. The majority have been sold - the first one in 1978 - and reside now with new caretakers in many homes and workplaces around our world. I created countless artworks for a massive and varied community of art lovers throughout these decades, and many focused on same-sex/non-binary images and forms. Now, with the advent of H2O-based oil paints and oil pastels, I delve deeper into mixing these mediums with my acrylics and just have to add touches of all the new fluorescent, iridescent, and metallic colours I can buy! My fingers have an almost permanent pigment stain - more interesting than nail polish!
If you stumble across this site and see something you LOVE or kinda like but it has been sold, PLEASE contact me. Nothing I paint, create, or design is EVER repeated or mass-produced. Each and every single creation is one of a kind. I can create something very similar/along the lines of whatever it is that caught your attention, but NEVER the exact same!

My mission to provide affordable artwork for so many has and always will bring me the greatest happiness.
Over the centuries since the Ancient Greeks began the encaustic use, the medium has come in and out of artistic fashion, with a resurgence of interest in the medium starting all over again now.
The richness of colour, the proven durability and colour fastness, as well as the myriad of supports that encaustic can be used on, has seen a rise in popularity once again. Working with nature’s gifts of beeswax and soy wax, castor wax, damar resin, and shellac is a pure joy. Add heat and fire, as well as a vivid curiosity to that pure joy, and for me, nirvana as an artist is achieved.
One of the oldest mediums still in use today, encaustics have seen a resurgence this century after living in the shadows of the master oil, acrylic, watercolour, and mixed medium artists.
Discovered by the Ancient Greek boat-building masters, perfected as an art medium and form by their artists, and then taught by these very artists to the ancient Egyptians, encaustic artworks have survived through millennia with very little colour fading or deterioration. Famous religious icon paintings were done using encaustics and survive to this very day.
The current encaustic, acrylic, and mixed medium artworks for sale are a mix of varying pieces that explore themes of myths and belonging and are very intuitive pieces. Most come with a written artist's statement.

I believe that every home and every space needs the beauty and impact of any piece or type of art to truly make your space unique and YOURS. Until I no longer can, I will keep bringing more colour into our world. With life starting to settle, once again, I have recommenced creating my beloved art.
Every now and then, I receive a message from the one/s who have purchased my work/s. Sometimes I see them when I am out and about, and it makes my pride and heart sing when I know they still love what they purchased from me.
Have you, dear visitor to this site, purchased from me over the years? Please drop me a line and let me know how that little piece of me that I created for you or sold to you is going.
This gallery represents the hugely diverse group of what I lovingly refer to as my 'self portraits' - many have writings on them - some I simply drew with graphite pencil and put away.
When time allows I often pull that huge store of drawings out and decide if I am going to do more to them or with them or simply leave them as they originally were.
The advent of our amazing technology has meant I am able to scan all my originals, share them with other beings online and then place them back into safe keeping.
Dahut Creations by Waterwench© began as a simple drawing - many scribbles on paper - the majority of these sketches have been safe kept - locked away and often forgotten about until I decide to sort stuff!
Every year on my birthday I have always drawn something that reflects who am am at that moment,
Each and every one of these self portraits is about what I am feeling, seeing and facing during that time. Those who know me well can see within these self portraits the imagery and the meaning behind them.
A lot of what I have drawn or draw has ended up on my body as my own walking gallery - major milestones have been celebrated by having my birthday or birth year drawings - self portraits - just doodles- placed onto my body by a tattooist. I have many! I love my body art, each and every one holds meaning to me and I do not care if others don't or do see.
I truly do suffer for my ART!
I had spent many years designing one of a kind tattoo designs for a huge range of beings - I now only do so for family and myself.
