At Dahut Creations by Waterwench©, I hold a steadfast belief that art, in all her boundless forms, carries an extraordinary power to heal the weary heart, ignite inspiration, educate the curious mind, forge connections, and transform lives. I am now commencing my lifelong dream of working holistically with the arts as a therapy, embracing the profound ways creativity can touch the human spirit and nurture well-being.

My mission is a passionate pledge to share the insights I have gathered over the years while eagerly learning from the wisdom of others, weaving together a thriving and supportive community of artists, crafters, and all who dare to journey into the endless wonders of art through creative workshops and private art classes. I believe with all my heart that when we exchange knowledge, we enliven a vibrant creative ecosystem where every medium and every hand finds its place. My blog is a living collection of musings, discoveries, and reflections, moments of learning and unlearning, that I offer openly to inspire others along their path. And now, with my focus extending into art as therapy, I aim to encourage creative practices that not only delight but also heal and restore.

I share my tips, my tricks, my whys and why-nots freely and with love, so that others may embark on their own creative journey with confidence, armed with well-founded knowledge rather than the fleeting shortcuts of glossy, over-edited tutorials. I also know that for every insight I give, I will receive tenfold from this community. We are all eternal students here, forever learning and forever growing through the wealth of experience and generosity that flows between us. Through my new path in holistic art therapy, this exchange feels more vital than ever.

Beyond knowledge, I offer the tried and true. My recommendations for materials and suppliers are ones I have personally tested and trusted. This ensures that every tool and resource supports creation that is authentic and informed, not dictated by trends, sponsorships, or the ever-churning wheel of influencers. In my therapeutic practice and creative work alike, I seek to provide guidance that is genuine and reliable, fostering an experience of creation that uplifts, educates, and heals.

Art will always remain the music to which my soul dances. It is both my sanctuary and my song, and now, my lifelong dream of working holistically with the arts as therapy allows me to share that song with others.

KNOW ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT FIRST! This isn't just about the paints or other mediums you'll use; it's everything that accompanies the journey of creating that fabulous piece of art, regardless of what that creation will be. The web, market stalls, in-store shops, and our communities are overflowing with countless creations on walls in homes, drinkware, clothing, etc. – ALL are mass-produced with the same sayings, images, and artwork. Through art tuition, you can learn to appreciate and use unique materials effectively.

I have old glassware and objects that I’ve discovered in thrift stores or have been given to me that I repurpose. Some I fill with soy wax and a wick, while others serve as vases or lights, all adorned with one-of-a-kind original art. These pieces reside in my home or are gifted to others – it truly is that straightforward! You just need to think beyond the typical recommendations and labels.
