Each year on my birthday I do a sketch usually in graphite and black drawing inks to celebrate my making it to that point in my life. I put them away and then decide if I will do anything with them or leave them as they originally were. They always represent a pivotal point, event/s or moments in that year of my life. Often these drawings end up on my own body - I am my own walking art gallery.
Thank you.
There are not many items I cannot imprint, engrave, paint or place an original, one of a kind design into or onto.
With children’s names moving from traditional Jack or Sue to modern and often many variations of a traditional spelling, my crafted objects were requested by many and adorn homes around the world. I’ve put names on just about everything possible for others, including a pair of undies that now resides in England. Names and their meanings have always fascinated me, I always use symbols, gems, flowers and colours associated with the name and date of birth. After our last baby arrived, I started decorating her nursery by branding very unattractive but potentially beautiful things with my creative intuitive flare and was swamped with requests to make and decorate items for others.
So it began…
I have had the greatest privilege through the many decades of creating art, to work with so many amazing beings who saw my art through my eyes and requested I create an artwork just for them, to reflect who they are, how they see, hear, think and most importantly, to bring colour into our world. Many of the commissioned pieces I have created working hand in hand with these beings, either via the phone, over the World Wide Web, in person or by letter, gasp! YES those were the days my friends. Owning an original one of a kind piece of artwork in a home, workplace or any other space is the ultimate gift to yourself or a loved one.
My tattoo designing has been around since the late 70's - that album you will notice is EMPTY with the exception of images of my own body art - ask me why or think 'copyright' and internet thievery.
The honour I hold in being asked to create an artwork or design for a loved one, as a gift in memory or just for them is without words. For this honour and the privilege I say,
Thank you.

The Celebration of you - Commissioned Encaustic Artwork DMC ©2017
I had been contacted by a dear friend, with a request for an encaustic artwork commission for a 50th Birthday Celebration.
I had never physically met the subject or receiver of the commissioned artwork, (I did not need to) I was just supplied a photograph and instructions to "do what you do best"
I was so honoured to have been given this task of creating something that embraces all I saw of her in the supplied photograph.
(I edited the original supplied photo from colour to black and white before immersing myself into the finished creation)
Thank you.
She is all that and more - DMC ©2008
